Mitutoyo is pleased to introduce two new offerings to enhance their extensive lineup of Digital and Linear Scales

The new Ultra-compact Linear Encoder Fiber Scale with the world’s smallest detector head is well suited to high-precision stage positioning control and component positional control applications. It separates electronic components from the inside of the detector head using an optical fiber-guided wave, enabling an ultra-compact unit without a heat source and free of electromagnetic noise. There are also LED indicators on the interface unit to eliminate the need for an oscilloscope during detector head mounting adjustment, helping to reduce installation work.

The ABS ST1300 (Absolute encoder tape scale) is ideal for semiconductor/FPD manufacturing equipment and large stage applications. This product features extensive interface compatibility, outstanding robustness against contamination compared to earlier photoelectric types achieved using a new detection principle. It offers a choice between double-sided tape and fixed-end mounting methods. It can also realizes a 12m effective length, 8-m/s max. response speed and 1nm minimum resolution.
