The Canadian Welding Association (CWA) and Lincoln Electric are working together to cross promote a CWA branded Lincoln Electric Viking 2450 Series electronic welding helmet.
The helmet displays CWA decals and colours, and will be donated on a 10 to 1 basis to encourage welding students to participate in the CWA, and welding trade, as well as offsetting some of their post-secondary equipment expenses.
The way it works is: “for every 10 helmets sold, Lincoln Electric will donate one to the CWA who will in turn give it to a welding student for their hard work and passion for the trade,” said Dan Tadic, CWA Executive Director. “It’s a great initiative and we’re very thankful for this opportunity to partner with Lincoln Electric in this unique way to promote the industry and the CWA to the new generation of welders.”
The lightweight, solar-powered auto darkening helmet is designed for stick, TIG, Pulsed TIG, MIG, Pulsed MIG, Flux-Cored, Gouging and Grinding processes and comes with a two-year warranty on parts and labour. The CWA branded electronic welding helmet can be purchased through any local Lincoln Electric authorized distributor.
“These helmets are quite spectacular and will be very beneficial to the lucky students who receive them,” said Mr. Tadic. “We encourage industry to get onboard with this initiative because it will help future generations of welders to be equipped with a piece of great technology while assisting them with their educational costs.”
The CWA is a not-for-profit division of the CWB Group.
