On December 12, Delcam will demonstrate the latest developments in their design and manufacturing software at a release seminar held at Sandvik Canada, in Mississauga.
The event will include the launch of the 2014 releases of Delcam’s CAM systems FeatureCAM and PowerMILL, and demonstrations of the new Vortex strategy for high-speed area clearance will take place.
The feature can be used for two- and three-axis roughing, three-plus-two-axis area clearance and for rest machining based on stock models or reference toolpaths in PowerMILL.
New functionality for the conversion of product designs into tooling designs in the 2014 release of PowerSHAPE will also be shown.
The software now provides an even more powerful set of easy-to-use tools to increase productivity through increased automation and improved workflow.
Having all the different technologies in the same package reduces the need to transfer data between multiple programs and so streamlines the whole product development process. At the same time, the combination of quick and easy direct modelling options, together with powerful and flexible surface modelling, makes PowerSHAPE the perfect choice for design for manufacture.
Following the demonstrations of the new functionality by Delcam engineers Craig Burney and Aaron Kennette delegates will be given a tour of the Sandvik production facility. This will include demonstrations of the Vortex strategy on Okuma, MB-56VA Space Center.
“We very much appreciated the hospitality provided by Sandvik for our users, especially the opportunity to show the huge time savings that are possible by using the new Vortex area clearance strategy with Sandvik cutting tools,” commented Mark Cadogan, Vice President Delcam North America.
“In addition, I’m certain that our users will welcome a chance to tour the impressive production facility.”
