When Magna Powertrain ran into problems with its air and water-cooled compressors and dryers at one of its Southern ontario plants, it turned to a AirCell for a solution.
AirCell, a Mississauga, ON, company, provided Magna Powertrain with an outdoor installation of a 150 hp air-cooled compressor package in an AirCell Exterior compressor room, allowing the auto parts supplier to free up water-cooling capacity for other processes, save floor space and, according to AirCell, take advantage of the benefits of air cooling while never having to worry about over-heating due to blocked cooling mediums.
The AirCell outdoor compressor rooms are designed to operate efficiently outdoors, independent of external heating or cooling sources, in any weather condition, claims the company. The room is a self-contained unit that is easy to install with the connection of a ower supply and air line.
Each AirCell features an oversized filter bank to ensure the cleanest internal environment. Each unit is equipped with an automated temperature control system, which adjusts the modulating mixing louvers to adapt to external weather conditions. This eliminates the task of manual seasonal adjustments, while maintaining a consistent internal temperature.
Building envelopes range from 10 to 40 ft and feature keyless entry and remote operation. The rooms accommodate multiple compressor and dryer brands and configurations.
