The Government of ontario is providing a $1.5 million grant to auto parts maker, Nemak of Canada Corporation. This money will go towards upgrade its production line and pursue a new global partnership which will create 80 new jobs over the next four years and retain almost 200 jobs in the area.

Nemak supplies high-tech aluminum components for the automotive industry, like cylinder heads, engine blocks, transmission parts and other structural components.
The company plans to increase production capacity of aluminum engine blocks to export to its new global partner, Shanghai General Motors in China, increasing the companys global competitiveness.
The $1.5 million grant will come from the Southwestern ontario Development Fund.
Modelled on the proven Eastern ontario Development Fund, the Southwestern ontario Development Fund is helping to create jobs and diversify the economy by encouraging regional businesses to pursue innovation and new markets. Together, these two funds have created and retained more than 29,000 jobs and attracted more than $1.25 billion in investment.
