MonTREAL — Bombardier Inc.  says one of its senior executives is leaving the Montreal-based aerospace company for personal reasons.

We have elected to part ways, said spokeswoman Marianella de la Barrera of the departure of senior vice-president Raymond Jones, which was effective immediately.

Jones had been appointed senior vice-president of sales, marketing and asset management for Bombardier Commercial Aircraft about a year ago.

His responsibilities included sales of the companys commercial aircraft, including the much-delayed CSeries, along with the Q400 NextGen and other aircraft.

Prior to that role, Jones had joined Bombardiers business aircraft division in April 2006.

De la Barrera said a search was underway for a replacement.

While we appreciate his contribution to the successful year we had, we do continue to move forward, she said.

Jones departure follows the retirement of Bombardiers head of aerospace, Guy Hachey, in July.

The testing phase of the CSeries has been mired by delays and high costs after flight tests were suspended for three months last May following an engine failure during ground maintenance testing.

The CS100 is expected to enter into service in the second half of 2015, followed about six months later by the larger CS300. Bombardier said the company has commitments for 563 planes, including 243 firm orders.

Bombardier is Canadas largest aerospace company and one of the worlds largest manufacturer of commuter rail equipment.
