The Kent, Washington-based OMAX Corporation is announcing the largest expansion of their headquarters since opening at that location in 1999. They will be adding a new 22,000-square-foot building that will be used for training and research and development.
Despite the slow economy OMAX has been growing steadily and was named to Inc. magazine’s 500|5000 list of the fastest-growing private companies in America. Their business grew at a 21 per cent rate between 2008 and 2011.
The building expansion will include a lab area, wher anyone from sales representatives to distributors can learn about products. It is also hoped the expansion will allow the company to improve its products through additional research and development and engineering capacities.
The entire OMAX campus in Kent will encompass 130,000 square feet of space spread across three buildings.
The company plans to complete the building expansion this month.
OMAX designs and manufactures its abrasive waterjet machines and accessories from the Kent location.
