ST-EUSTACHE, Que.—The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) has placed a $143-million order with Nova Bus for 153 articulating people-movers, the Quebec firm says.
The Nova Bus LFS Artic vehicles, which the company says feature corrosion- and fatigue-resistant stainless steel structures, will be built in Saint-Eustache and Saint-François-du-Lac, Que.
Being selected to provide Canadas largest transit authority with the latest generation of articulated vehicles is a tremendous opportunity and another milestone in strengthening our position in North America, Nova Bus president and CEO Gilles Dion said in a statement.
The 62-foot LFS Artic is designed to handle high-volume routes with easy maneuverability.
Delivery of the first 27 LFS Artic is scheduled for 2013.
