WINNIPEG — New Flyer Industries says a large US customer has announced a delay in its order for 90 Xcelsior articulated buses.
As a result, the Winnipeg-based bus manufacturer has lowered its projected 2012 output rate to the equivalent of 34 units per week – down from 36 EUs per week.
New Flyer says the customers delay is due to a state requirement for an independent review of all sole-sourced orders. The company expects to get the go-ahead in early October.
New Flyer employs 2,000 people at plants in St. Cloud, Crookston, Minn.; and Winnipeg.
