Canadian metalworking Editor Jim Anderton will host a one-hour “FAB LAB” round table discussion during FABTECH Canada, March 20-22, 2012 at the Toronto Congress Centre. The one-hour sessions will run from 11:00 to noon on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and all are attendees are welcome.
“I’m looking forward to discussing the outstanding issues of our industry in the relaxed, accessible format of the FAB LAB”, said Anderton, adding, “it will be a no-holds-barred discussion. We’ll dig into the problems facing the industry in Canada and see wher we can brainstorm ideas to kickstart the sector.”
FAB LAB is an interactive, educational gathering located on the show floor at FABTECH Canada 2012. It’s designed to facilitate the exchange of information in an intimate setting think of it like a bar with patrons and their bartender having an in-depth discussion. FAB LAB is facilitated by FABTECH Canada exhibitors and sponsored and hosted by Canadian metalworking Magazine. At FAB LAB there are no boring lectures or PowerPoint presentations…in fact they’re prohibited. It’s industry Canadians speaking interactively and working out ideas collaboratively.
According to Anderton, “Whether it’s the labour shortage, the recession, access to capital, taxation or technology, we’ll tackle them all and find out how much the industry has in common…and how we’ll face these challenges in 2012. I’m looking forward to meeting Canadian metalworking readers face to face and hearing about their businesses…it’s tough to ‘compare notes’ as individual metalworking companies; FAB LAB is a great chance to network and share ideas in a relaxed, fun atmosphere. I can’t wait!”
