Allan Callander
Prima Power Laserdyne has announced the appointment of Allan Callander to the position of Market Sales Manager. In announcing the appointment, Mark Barry, Vice President, Sales Marketing for Prima Power Laserdyne, stated that Mr. Callander’s appointment is a part of the company’s expansion of its laser systems business to include industries such as medical devices, electronics, and precision mechanical components.“Allan’s near term focus will be on growing sales of the LASERDYNE 430, a multi-axis system designed for precision cutting, welding and drilling of 2 and 3 dimensional components.” reports Mr. Barry. “The LASERDYNE 430 is ideal for processing medical components, such as orthopedic implants and surgical instruments, and small, precise electromechanical devices. With speeds up to 800 inch/min (0-20 m/min) in the X, Y, and Z axes and bidirectional accuracy of 0.0005 inch (12.7 micrometer), the system is ideal for cutting and drilling as well as welding. The growth of laser processing in industry has increased the requirement for turnkey systems supplied by a company that can assist end users from product concept through production. This is an area wher Laserdyne is well known. For over 30 years Laserdyne has been a resource to the aerospace and turbine engine manufacturers around the world. Mr. Callander has held management positions with Winland Electronics, LPL Systems, Inc., HEI Inc., and GSI. In each case, he successfully launched and managed the development of new products while multiplying sales of established products to leading medical device and electronic manufacturers.
Mr. Callander holds an MBA from the University of St. Thomas and a BS in materials engineering from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
