MISSISSAUGA—KSB Pumps Inc. has relocated its Canadian operation to a 18,000 square-foot facility in Mississauga, according to the company’s president, Mike Blundell.

The new building will accommodate an expanded showroom and office space. It will feature a 10,000 square-foot high-bay workshop area with a 16-tonne overhead crane.

“With our steady growth over the past few years, our current space has become increasingly cramped,” says Blundell. “The biggest benefit of the new location is the expanded workshop area, giving us the ability to handle pre-delivery set-up and maintenance services on much larger pump assemblies”.

Blundell says they will invest more than $500,000 on new machining equipment to add a full range of machine shop and test loop facilities. The company also expects to create 25 new jobs by 2016.

Development plans call for the addition of a full range of machine shop and test loop facilities, including new boaring machines and lathes for the facility’s service operations.

“The new facility will really allow us to put KSB’s Canadian operations on the map,” says Blundell. “We haven’t done a good enough job at developing our presence here, but these new operations will really allow us to penetrate the Canadian market.”

KSB Pumps, which has operated in Canada since 1989, also has office locations in Montreal and Calgary. The Germany-based company generated $2.8 billion in worldwide revenue in 2010 and has a global workforce of about 14,500 employees.
