HARTFORD, Conn. — United Technologies announced the appointment of Akhil Johri as the corporations Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, effective January 1, 2015.
Johri, 53, will have global responsibility for UTCs Finance function and for financial communications and investor relations. He will report to UTC President and Chief Executive Officer Gregory J. Hayes, became president and CEO of the company after the unexpected departure of CEO Louis Chenevert last month.
Johri was CFO of Pall Corp. Prior to this, Johri had a longstanding career with UTC; his most recent role was Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer for UTC Propulsion & Aerospace Systems, which includes Pratt & Whitney and UTC Aerospace Systems.

Johri is a graduate of the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, and is a Chartered Accountant.
Upon the effective date of Johris appointment, Peter F. Longo, currently the corporations Acting Chief Financial Officer, will resume his prior position as Vice President, Finance & Chief Financial Officer, UTC Propulsion & Aerospace Systems.
