100,000—this is the number of units Nissan has sold in Canada this calendar year.

Nissan reached this milestone in November 2014, with over a month still left in the calendar year to accumulate gains.  This sales record marks a 27 per cent year-over-year increase. According to the company, the sales increase is attributed to their commitment to providing marketing, dealer support, and a strong product line up. The new product line up has been developed specifically with Canada in mind.

This sales accomplishment was a culmination of several factors: high-quality products offering exceptional value, a totally reinvigorated dealer network, and individually tailored marketing strategies to meet the diverse needs of Canadians, says Christian Meunier, President of Nissan Canada Inc. I applaud each and every one of NCIs employees and our dealers. Across Canada, Nissan and Infiniti dealers have delivered on their steadfast commitment to welcoming new customers to the Nissan and Infiniti family, and delivering an outstanding ownership experience to our loyal customers.

Nissan reaches milestone in Canada

Nissan Micra helps Nissan Group surpass the 100,000 units sold mark.

This milestone demonstrates Nissan as a dominant force in the market, strongly competing with the entry-level compact segment. The Canadian-specific line up has helped the company reach their sales goal,  including the all-new Nissan Micra, and the continued success of the Versa Note. Individually, Micra and Versa Note are successful, but together the two vehicles grew Nissans presence in the sub-compact segment by 76 per cent.

With the new Nissan Micra joining our line-up, Canadians now have several great options to choose from in the hotly-contested entry-level segment—and they are choosing Nissan in record numbers, said Meunier. As Canadian customers move through their lives and need more room, power or functionality, Nissan has something for everyone.

The Nissan Rogue crossover is the top-selling product in the Nissan portfolio, with 24,359 units sold at the end of October, representing a staggering year-over-year increase of 76 per cent.

2014 is also a banner year for Nissans all-electric car. Canadian sales of the Nissan LEAF are up 122 per cent with 918 Canadians choosing zero-emission driving so far this year.

The Infiniti brand has also recorded impressive growth thus far this year, and is a crucial catalyst for the companys growth. Infiniti Canada sales are up 13 per cent year-over-year with sales totaling 8,642 at the end of October, led by the QX60 luxury 7 passenger crossover the Infiniti brands top-seller with 2,937 units sold during the past ten months. The Q50 sports sedan continues to resonate well with Canadians with 2,821 units sold, an increase of 33 per cent, and with newly redesigned models of both the Q70 and QX80, Infiniti is poised for further growth.

As we continue to see strong demand for the complete range of our products, we also look forward to welcoming all-new models to our portfolio next year including the Murano crossover, the Maxima sport sedan, and the Nissan Titan truck, says Christian Meunier. This is an exciting era of change and evolution for Nissan in Canada, and I am proud to continue to lead this team into our next chapter of success.
