At FABTECH 2013 Amada presented several technical presentations covering cutting and forming technologies.
Three new fibre laser machines were announced. The ENSIS 3015AJ was one of the featured lasers, which uses a proprietary beam conditioning system that allows a 2kW resonator to deliver the cutting performance of a 4kW machine.
The ENSIS unit achieves this by altering beam parameters between the resonator and nozzle with a patented beam conditioning technology to allow the unit to switch between thin and thick part cutting without a nozzle change.
According to Jason Hillenbrand, we can cut 1-inch plate unheard of in a fibre machine, let alone with a 2kW machine.
The FLCAJ 4020 handles large-to-mid- thickness parts while the LCG3015AJ is a thin sheet high-speed machine. A new press brake and punch was also debuted.
A complex part was cut and bent in the booth using multiple machines. DR. ABE software was used to generate tooling set-up offline to increase processing speed.
Amadas presence at FABTECH 2013 in Chicago also included the announcement of Amadas donation of a laser cutting machine to the Workshop for Warriors program to train US military veterans in fabricating skills.
