Sumitomo Electric Carbide, Inc. has announced the grand opening of its Tool Engineering Center (TEC) and plant expansion in New Berlin, Wisconsin.
The plant expansion and development of a new facility have been established to provide increasing support and service to North American customers.
The 55,000 square foot expansion has more than doubled the size of the facility, which manufactures solid carbide drills, replaceable carbide drills, regrinds, CBN inserts, PCD inserts, and special round tools.

The grand opening celebration was held on June 5, 2013 to showcase the 10,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility and expansion.
The TEC includes a large training room for multiple levels of training classes, machines to display cutting tool products and demonstrate on-the-machine training, and extensive measuring tools.
The main objective of the TEC is to properly train and inform all customers and partners of Sumitomo products. It also houses a lounge for employees to relax in at the end of the day.
