PARIS Bombardier Inc. has received an order worth up to US$1.035 billion from VistaJet, which operates a fleet of private business aircraft.

VistaJet has placed firm orders for 20 Challenger 350s and acquired options for 20 more of Bombardiers long-range business jets.

The announcement was made by the Montreal-based plane manufacturer on the second day of the Paris Air Show, a major event for the aviation industry.

Bombardier also announced that Horizon Air of Seattle has converted options for three Q400 turboprop airlines into firm orders worth US$98 million.

VistaJet is a repeat customer for Bombardier Aerospace, Canadas largest aviation manufacturer and the worlds leading supplier of business jets.

In November, VistaJet placed 56 firm orders and 86 options for Global aircraft from Bombardier, which is Canadas largest aerospace company.

VistaJet founder Thomas Flohr said his company aims to offer the worlds most modern fleet of large cabin jets for its clients.

Having personally participated in the focus groups that led to the Challenger 350 jets conception, I am confident that this aircraft will deliver the comfort, technology and range that our customers rely on when flying with VistaJet, Flohr said in a statement issued by Bombardier.

Bombardier says the Challenger 350 has a range of 5,926 kilometres, giving it the ability to make non-stop connections between all major cities within mainland China, or international flights between places such as Moscow and Dubai.
