Bombardier Aerospace announced they have begun production at their transitional facility in Morocco.

The company had originally announced in November 2011 its intentions to build a manufacturing facility in the Casablanca region, but re-evaluated the project’s timeline.

For the time being, the temporary location – which is located close to the future permanent facility – will produce equipment for the CRJ Series aircraft.

“This is a very exciting milestone for us as we start to see our operation in Morocco take form,” said Hugo Brouillard, General Manager, Bombardier Aerospace, Morocco.

“With 18 new local employees fully engaged and trained in the Bombardier manufacturing process and philosophy, this is the first step towards a long future of quality component manufacturing at another world-class Bombardier facility.”

The company expects the facility will employ around 100 aircraft assemblers.
