BERLIN, Germany — Bombardier has scored some new deals in China.

It’s transportation division and Shanghai Shentong Metro Group Co. Ltd are forming a joint venture company called Shentong Bombardier (Shanghai) Rail Transit Vehicle Maintenance Co. Ltd., which will focus on the repair and maintenance of urban mass transit vehicles in China.

The new company will offer daily maintenance, intermediate repairs, overhauls, refurbishment and technical consultation.

Bombardier Transportation is participating in three joint ventures and seven wholly foreign owned enterprises in China, employing more than 4,000 people in China.

Meanwhile, Bombardier Aerospace has signed a US$330-million purchase agreement with an undisclosed customer in China for seven CRJ700 NextGen aircraft.

More than 100 Bombardier aircraft, including CRJ Series and Q-Series commercial aircraft, as well as Learjet, Challenger and Global business jets, are currently operating in Greater China.
