There are only 42 days left until IMTS 2014 in Chicago. Sandvik Coromant is gearing up by creating an event of its own. During the week of IMTS 2014, Sandvik Coromant will attempt to break a Guinness World Record. The goal of the event will be to raise public awareness of the importance of manufacturing to the U.S. economy and attract the next generation of workers to our industry. It is no secret that the skills gap is a significant factor when it comes to generating a successful manufacturing industry. There is a great need to educate and inform people to enter into the trades and develop their skills in order to build up the manufacturing community.
As part of the official Guinness World Record attempt, Sandvik Coromant and various industry partners will also donate money to The Manufacturing Institute, a 501(c)3 organization focused on attraction, qualification, and development of world-class manufacturing talent.
Sandvik Coromant will be continuing to develop this project and will release more details closer to the event. If you are interested in getting involved, mark down this information in your calendar:
