United Grinding North Americas Mini Motion Meeting 14 kicked off this morning in picturesque Charleston, South Carolina.
The dealer event includes new products, distributor meetings, and sales awards on the heels of a record-breaking year for the company. The venue for the event is the historic aircraft carrier USS Yorktown, which served in World War II through to Vietnam.
Amongst the fighter planes and space capsules, a Studer S11 production cylindrical grinding unit was on display. Events include technical seminars including techniques for boosting productivity and quality.
Tool Division Applications Manager Simon Manns presented a seminar on form tool compensation describing an automated measure/grind process under software control that can compensate for multiple error sources such as wheel wear and part growth in real time.
The event includes a special evening gala hosted by the Director of Corporate Marketing, Ted Neckel, and tours of the historic ship.
