TRUMPFs new TruTool DD 1010TRUMPF introduced the new TruTool DD 1010, a battery-powered drill driver.

It draws power from a modern 10.8 volt Li-ion battery with two ampere-hours of capacity. This ensures a long duty cycle. Professional craftsmen can use this machine to drill starting holes in steel sheets and, in just the same way, to drive screws and drill holes in a variety of other materials.

Equipped with a powerful 2 speed gear, this drill drive can achieve 15 or 30 newton meters in both the clockwise and counterclockwise directions. Maximum speed is 1,450 revolutions per minute. To set the power level correctly for screw driving and drilling, TRUMPF has fitted this new industrial-quality tool with 17 torque steps and an additional drilling step. The chuck opens to ten millimeters in diameter. In this way users can drill holes up to 20 millimeters wide in wood. In steel, eight millimeters holes can be drilled without problems. If the user changes to the screwdriver function, then an auto-stop clutch keeps from stripping the threads and makes for quick and safe work.

Uninterrupted use of the TruTool DD 1010 is also made possible since the modern 10.8 volt technology is miserly in energy use. Thus with a 2 Ah charge users can, for example, drill up to 24 starting holes (18 mm diameters in mild steel one millimeter thick) or can drive as many as 95 screws (4 x 60 mm) into wood. The charging period for this 2 Ah battery might also be a record-breaker. 80 per cent of its capacity is restored in just 15 minutes and after 30 minutes it is fully charged. During this period either a spare battery or the battery from another TRUMPF 10.8 volt Li-ion tool may be used.

Among its other standard features, the TruTool DD 1010 includes an integral LED lamp to illuminate the screw driving or drilling area, an LED charge indicator, and a belt clip. Also advantageous is the stabile standing surface for the battery-powered tool, designed to prevent tipping. The TruTool DD 1010 is available either in a sturdy plastic case or in a simple carton. The unit may be delivered with two 2 Ah batteries and a charging unit or as a “solo” device – without batteries or the charger.
