UNISIG announces its recently updeated machine, the UNISIG UNE6. This compact machine allows job shop owners to economically add gundrilling capabilities to their operations. The UNISIG UNE6 is a machine designed for drilling deep holes with smaller diameters.
Representing the UNE series of gundrilling machines, the UNE6 is well-suited for medical components such as bone screws and surgical instruments that require the precision drilling of small diameter deep holes into high strength titanium or surgical-grade stainless steel. A counter rotating workpiece headstock designed for small parts greatly enhances concentricity, and hole diameters with the UNE6 can be drilled as small as .039 (1mm) with diameter-to-depth ratios beyond 100 to 1.
The UNE6 features cast iron headstock and chip box components, cartridge spindles with premium quality bearings, and a high precision preloaded ball screw feed.
UNE series gundrilling machines meet job shop owners’ needs for flexibility through a modular design. Machines are available in a variety of configurations with up to four spindles, a single drilling module, dual spindle-spindle modules, and as single or dual module machines.
The compact construction of the UNE6 allows for quick installation. To ensure immediate production upon installation, UNISIG provides customers with training for machine operation, process optimization and gundrill tool sharpening in UNISIG’s training room and lab. The company also provides reference information and practical advice necessary for proper operation.
