The Hurco Chipmaker Challenge has a winner!AND the winner is

The Hurco Chipmaker Challenge has been in the works for months, with lots of planning on both the companys part and the part of the contestant. Hurco previously announced 7 finalists, 2 more than oringinally planned due to the high calibre of applications.

Today, in their booth, S-8319, Hurco collected a panelist of industry professionals to judge the prospective candidates. Judges included Indy racer Robbie Buhl, and Gabe Draper of Draper Manufacturing, IN, along with three others.

The Hurco Chipmaker Challenge has a winner!The seven contestants each had an opportunity to discuss with the panel and give the audience a glimpse of how a new Hurco machine could help their vision or business plan. The judges took turns asking contestants important questions like how contestant Wade Moore planned on gainin ISO and aerospace industry certifications.

Wade Moore of Moore Engineering in Connecticut was the first up followed by Philip Paull, Excavating Solutions, LLC., in Indiana. Other contestants included Jordan Hill, Middle Coast Moldmakers, in Wisconsin; Jason Merrell, Wolfpack Motorsports, Inc., in California; Ben Noordhoek, On Time Machining, in Michigan; Richard ONeal, Zel Technologies, in Florida; and Dakota Sodergren, DKS Machining, in Washington.

Judges listened intently and tooks notes, carefully reviewing materials presented and finally came the conclusion.

It was Philip Paull, Excavating Solutions, LLC., in Indiana, who is this years winner of the Hurco Chipmaker Challenge. When Paull spoke, he told the story of how his daughter inspired him to become a better drawer, which he used to design excavator attachments. His presentation included patented designs inlcuding his long reach boom and kung fu grip.
