Tungaloy has extended their turning range by adding an SS chipbreaker to the DoMiniBore series of boring tools.

The new chipbreaker provides better chip control with low cutting forces when finish machining on stainless steel components. It’s also complemented by the addition of the TS chipbreaker design for general stainless steel machining.

Both inserts preform comparably to ground inserts with G-class precision levels. The new inserts have a large edge inclination, which reduces cutting forces and chatter while the wide chip pocket prevents chip re-cutting and delivers smooth swarf control.

The SS and TS chipbreakers are available in Tungaloys AH725 PVD coated grade as well as the NS530 cermet & GT530 coated cermet grades for high speed cutting on steels, stainless steels and cast irons.
