OMAX recently unveiled its new Intelli-VISOR System Monitoring Package, which allows users to oversee the status and performance of an OMAX abrasive waterjet throughout the entire cutting process.
The monitoring application helps increase efficiency and uptime by connecting operation controls with machine maintenance. The Intelli-VISOR works on any OMAX JetMachining Center.
The product uses an industry-standard Modbus communications protocol and features a software interface and machine sensor network to capture and share real-time data from different components across the JetMachining Center.
As a result, operators can monitor and analyze machining parameters such as cutting activity, pump pressure, and abrasive levels, as well as keep track of machine hours and maintenance schedules.
Through its custom-programmed parameters, it enables the operator to configure exactly what aspect of the machine is to be monitored and the action the machine is to initiate if an operation is about to fail or has failed.
The operator will be alerted of an issue at the machine control screen, and (provided an internet connection is available) up to four people can be notified via email or text messaging.
To use the Intelli-VISOR system users must first upgrade to the latest Intelli-MAX 18 Software, which is free to existing OMAX customers.
