Seco Tools showcased its new range of 335.25 disc mills at IMTS 2012. The mills are suited for machining a wide variety of components and materials.

The tools can be used for slotting, side milling, face milling, back facing, helical interpolating, circular interpolating, copy plunging, T-slot machining and cut-off operations.

The 335.25 mills are multi-functional, which allows for fewer tool changes and smaller tool inventories. The mills also feature inserts incorporating a V-shape concept that creates an optimized cutting geometry to reduce machining forces and noise.

The free-cutting four-sided insert geometries, offered in several grades, also feature wiper flats for fine surface finishes and chip flow optimization, along with various corner radii from 0.031” to 0.236” (0.8 mm to 6 mm).

Seco’s 335.25 disc mills handle slot widths as large as 1” (25 mm). The mills can be configured with fixed pockets and use central coolant or with adjustable pockets for even greater versatility.
