The Excalibur 12 is a new CNC automatic drilling line from Ficep featuring a 25 hp direct drive spindle drive and 3000 rpm spindle speed.

A secondary X axis spindle movement permits the drilling of typical hole patterns without the need to unclamp and reclamp the material. And since the material is stationary while the spindle is moving independently in the X and Y axis, the drilling machine can generate scribing or part numbers and layout locations. The X axis can also be used to general slots.

The machine features all of the company’s key technologies for single spindle travelling column drill machines such as wireless remote to increase operator efficiency by 30 per cent and a 44 in. capability to address larger section sizes. In this new machine, the maximum section size capability has been expanded to 47-1/4 in. deep sections.

As an option, the Excalibur can be equipped with a six position automatic tool changer to change tooling without operator involvement.
