Behringer Saws has introduced a new line of automatic bandsaws designed for today’s workplace. The series of HBV Automatic Bandsaws feature modular components to suit a company’s individual cutting requirements, upgrades for maximum operator safety, high cutting efficiencies and a sleek new look for the modern shop floor.
The HBV Series of bandsaws are constructed with new streamlined, heavy-duty machine covers for easy access to the saw’s cast Meehanite band wheels and blades. These saws come equipped with an extensive array of standard components including full safety coverings, a frequency controlled saw drive and a chip conveyor that runs the length of each machine for clean and efficient removal of chips.
Standard equipment also includes hydraulic blade tensioning and material clamping systems to ensure steady and precise cuts at all speeds. Users can add numerous options to build upon the base machine including blade deflection monitoring systems and linear laser measuring devices to improve upon the machine’s already superior cutting efficiencies. Designed for safe operation, pre- and post-cut, the new bandsaws also come with material handling enclosures on the feed end of the saw and hardened plastic shields on the front blade side of the cutting table.
These covers reduce noise and discourage operators from venturing into the cutting area while still providing excellent line of sight to the material being cut and easy access for cleaning and the changing of saw blades. The Behringer HBV Series starts with two fully automatic models, both designed with strong cast iron frame construction for long-life in the shop and low-vibration through the cut.
The HBV 500A can cut rounds up to 20 in. in diameter and shapes up to 19.7 in. wide x 19.7 in. (500 mm x 500 mm) high and the HBV 420A can cut rounds up to 16.5 in. (419 mm) in diameter and rectangles up to 19.7 in. wide x 16.5 in. high (500 mm x 419 mm). Both models are equipped to automatically cut material continuously for low maintenance operation.
The HBV Series features frequency controlled main drive motors and have a variable speed range of between 65 – 460 Surface Feet Per Minute (SFM). The speed is easily set, controlled and monitored on the operator’s terminal featuring a diagnostic display, data entry and program storage. State-of-the-art CNC controls provide optimum production and cutting efficiencies requiring minimal operator intervention.
