Haas Automation Inc. will be unveiling its new Haas ST-30 Live Tool/C axis CNC turning centre and its DT-1 high speed Drill/Tap machine at CMTS.
The ST-30 is the latest Haas high-performance turning centre designed to provide heavy cutting ability, extreme rigidity and high thermal stability. It has a maximum cutting capacity of 21 in. x 26 in. (533 mm x 660 mm), with maximum swings of 31.75 in. (806 mm) over the front apron and 20.75 in. (527 mm) over the cross slide. The standard 30 hp spindle yields 275 ft-lb of torque at 700 rpm, and spins to 3400 rpm. The machine displayed at CMTS is being shown with an optional 2-speed gearbox that increases torque to 840 ft-lb at 200 rpm as well as full live-tool capability with C axis.
The DT-1 High Speed Drill/Tap machine features xyz travels of 20 in. x 16 in. x 15.5 in. (508 mm x 406 mm x 394 mm), a 15,000 rpm BT30 inline spindle and a 20 HP motor providing a small footprint machine capable of high speed milling, drilling and tapping. In fact it taps at speeds up to 5000 rpm. Haas will be at booth # 21013.
