Sumitomo Electric Carbide Inc. developed the new AC830P for interrupted steel turning, combining a tough substrate with a newly designed Super FF coating structure to increase the wear resistance over conventional P30 material grades.

The AC830Ps wear resistance not only exceeds conventional P30 coated carbide grades, according to Sumitomo, but its toughness outperforms conventional P20 grades. The AC830P is available in many geometries coupled with chipbreakers capable of machining light to heavy depths of cuts.

The AC830P grade, along with the EGE chipbreaker, excels in applications wher a tough edge is needed. The EGE allows for up to 0.024 IPR while still providing excellent chip control.
