The Canadian Tooling & Machining Association is pleased to be continuing the innovative Introductory Trades Training Program to help employers in the Windsor-Essex region create 75 new positions for youth (ages 18-29). This program has had great success in the past, and the CTMA will continue the ITT program in an effort to close the skilled trades gap in the machine, tool, die & mold sector.
Participating companies will receive $8,000 in funding to help offset their shop-floor training and wage costs and youth will come pre-screened and prepared with training from the Valiant Training & Development Centre.
The CTMA secured funding from the Government of ontario to launch the Introductory Trades Training Program in the Windsor-Essex region in June 2014. In the previous year, the program has enrolled 27 youth participants, two more than the target of 25, who are employed by 16 different companies. As these initiatives continue to grow, the CTMA is focused on developing new and innovative ways to help close the skills gap in Canada and listen to the needs and concerns of those in the manufacturing industry.
Please join the CTMA on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at the Ciociaro Club of Windsor for an information session to find out more about this innovative program.
