Norton Abrasives is implementing a performance upgrade across their “Better” tier of metal fabricating abrasives products for portable grinding applications. Products in the tier will now be sub-branded as Norton BlueFire and feature a zirconia alumina grain with properties that enable improved performance.
David Long, Director of Marketing and Strategy at Norton Abrasives stated in a release, “Norton BlueFire products utilize the latest generation of zirconia alumina grain which provides a stronger and sharper shape for an improved cut rate and excellent micro fracturing for the longest life of any zirconia alumina product. Total performance ratio has been improved by up to 30 per cent.”
Currently Norton “Better” fibre discs, flap discs, coated abrasive belts and portable wheels, cones and plugs have been upgraded to the new grain.
Also, the Charger depressed center and cut-off wheels, NorZon paper discs, non-woven wheels and quick-change discs for portable grinding applications will be upgraded to the new grain.
