Air Liquide has launched the new SMARTOP compressed gas cylinder, which competes the line of MINITOP and ALTOP products.
This user-friendly product sets a new standard on the Canadian market, providing Air Liquide clients with increased benefits in terms of safety and ease of operation, and more effectively responding to the needs expressed by professionals and occasional welders who use SMARTOP for argon. The cylinder is also available for helium balloon gas, and is easier to use and safer for clients at specialized boutiques and at smaller stores wher helium cylinders are refilled.
The SMARTOP cylinder features a residual pressure valve equipped with an ON/OFF lever that can be turned in a single motion, making it easy to shut off the flow of gas quickly; along with a high pressure gauge that indicates the volume of gas in the cylinder at all times. In addition, users can determine whether the valve is open or closed at a glance by checking the position of the lever. The cylinder is also equipped with a guard that remains in place at all times to protect the valve, which provides the user with increased safety, simplicity and savings. To use the cylinder, the user simply connects an extension line, selects the appropriate pressure, and moves the lever.
According to Ana Alegria, product manager of Industrial Cylinder Gases at Air Liquide Canada “the Air Liquide research and development team has been recommending safe solutions that satisfy the needs of welders for more than 100 years. The new Smartop cylinder joins the Top family of products, and there is no doubt that it will contribute to reducing the number of accidents in the welding industry, while helping welders to save gas and time.”
